New York State’s Erie Canal. opened in 1825, is a 360-mile engineering Wonder of the World, which links the Hudson River to the Great Lakes. There are a number of options for exploring the Canal, from taking a scenic 1½ hour cruise to an extended 3 or 4 day excursion.
