ALBANY, N.Y. — Albany is the perfect home base for the 9^th Annual Hudson River Ramble during three weekends in September — September 13-14, September 20-21 and September 27-28.

“With special tours, the Civil War Heritage Day at Albany Rural Cemetery and  Half Moon docked here, Albany is the perfect place to enjoy the Ramble,” said Michele Vennard, President and CEO of the Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

 There will be a special walking tour of Washington Park at 1 p.m. on Sept. 13,   with LarkFEST underway on Sept. 20.  Also on Sept. 13, the Hannaford Hispanic Heritage Celebration takes place at the Empire State Plaza from 3 to 9 p.m.

A full day of Civil War sights and sounds will be seen and heard throughout Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands from 10 a.m. 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, during the 4^th Annual Civil War Heritage Day that recognizes more than 800 Civil War Veterans who are buried at Albany Rural Cemetery.

People of Courage: Albany’s Underground Railroad Story will be presented at 1 p.m. on Sept. 14 at the Albany Heritage Area Visitors Center.

The Half Moon will have dockside tour for the public on Sept 20 and 21 and again on Sept. 27 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Albany has special tours including one of the city’s historic South End that begins at Schuyler Mansion at 10 a.m. on Sept. 27 and a self-guided cultural stroll of the Albany Art Trail in downtown on each of the three Saturdays during the Ramble.

The Hudson River Ramble has a total of 202 events that will take place from the Capital-Saratoga Region to New York City.  The Ramble is sponsored annually by the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area, Hudson River Valley Greenway and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Estuary Program.For a complete listing of events, visit www.hudsonrivervalley.com/ramble.
