- A Day in the Dark
New York City’s premier experiences, Dialog in the Dark and Dans le Noir? have teamed up to create an unforgettable day “in the dark” for $75 per person. Book the “Tour & Dine in the Dark” package to awaken senses and give new perspective to what it means to see. Hailed as a groundbreaking, unique, and never-before-”seen” exhibit, Dialog in the Dark leads visitors through a series of New York City environments highlighted by city-centric scents, sounds, temperatures and textures in complete darkness. Relying on blind and visually-impaired guides, exhibit goers ”see NYC” and visit many well-known landmarks without the sense of sight, while armed with an authentic walking cane. Following the experience, guests can head over to Dans le Noir?, a restaurant experience all about taste, texture, discovery and surprise, to continue their night by dining in the dark. Guests are invited to use their remaining senses to experience the food set before them and are given color-coded options to choose from for their three-course menu; white for Chef’s Surprise, blue for seafood and fish, red for meat and green for vegetarian. Reservations are required so book early by visiting http://www.dialognyc.com/ or http://www.newyork.danslenoir.com/.
- Take a Wild Ride
Explore the inner workings of the human body with BODIES…The Exhibition and continue the wild discovery with New York City’s only mobile theater, THE RIDE; currently bundled for $75 per person. Described as a “life-changing experience,” BODIES at South Street Seaport provides an intimate and informative view into the human body using more than 200 real human specimens that have been preserved using an innovative process, meticulously dissected and respectfully displayed. In addition to providing an inside look of the different systems of the body, the Exhibition encourages healthy lifestyle choices by displaying organs that have been damaged by drinking, smoking, over-eating, excess sugar consumption and lack of exercise. When guests have completed this unique anatomy class, it’s time to hop on the bus that blurs the line between performance and tour and unwind with THE RIDE, turning 4.2 miles of New York City streets into theater backdrops. Built with stadium seating and panoramic windows to provide each guest with a front row seat, THE RIDE’s surround system allows interactive improv as guests respond to performers, tourists and native New Yorkers while on the city tour of their lives.
