Rochester, N.Y. - The Dryden Theatre at George Eastman House will be comin’ at ya with seven 3-D classics from the early 1950s, featuring Hitchcock, Vincent Price, Westerns, and B films. Oswego, NY - Oswego Harborfest is seeking applicants for performance slots for the 2010 edition of the festival slated for July 22 - 25, 2010.
The festival seeks performers of all genre type. Harborfest has traditionally been an eclectic undertaking providing an opportunity to showcase a wide diversity of musical performers and types. The recently concluded 2009 edition of the festival spotlighted national, local and regional bands and artists. The festival featured a variety of music on the NRG Lakeview Stage at Breitbeck Park, the Family Stage at the Novelis Family Park at Fort Ontario and the Veteran’s Stage at Riverwalk West in Oswego. Saratoga Springs, NY - The 14th Annual Travers Festival features nine days of events and activities leading up to the Shadwell Travers Stakes, otherwise known as America’s “Mid-Summer Derby”, on August 29th. The Travers Festival runs from Saturday, August 22nd through Sunday, August 30th.

New Paltz, NY (August 19, 2009) - The Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at the State University of New York at New Paltz is hosting gallery talks and a performance by participants in the 2009 Hudson Valley Artists show, “Ecotones and Transition Zones,” on Thursday, Aug. 20.
The talks, which will take place from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. in the museum’s Alice and Horace Chandler Gallery and the North Gallery, feature Robert Capozzi, Lorrie Fredette, Dylan McManus, Laura Moriarty and Jill Parisi, who collaborated on a piece in the show; as well as fellow “Ecotones and Transition Zones” artists Dana Duke, Susan Miller, Itty Neuhaus and J. Gilbert Plantinga.
At 7 p.m., there will be an interactive tree serenade performance with artist Ryder Cooley. Viewers are encouraged to participate by bringing musical instruments. Read more »

Oswego, NY - The annual encampment of the French and Indian War will take place at Fort Ontario State Historic Site, Oswego, NY, on Saturday August 29 from 10 AM to 4:30 PM, and Sunday August 30 from 10 AM to 3 PM. The sights, sounds, and smells of camp and garrison life will greet visitors as they visit camps of British, French and native American troops and warriors who fought each other on these ground in the 1750’s. This year marks the 250th anniversary of both an important battle fought there in 1759 as well as the building of the second Fort Ontario. Read more »
