Each month  features one of the county’ first-class, group-friendly hotels or attractions and highlights events and activities.  The Golden Apple icon marking many dates indicates the county’s “golden apple promotion dates”, times when these hotels and attractions will especially welcome groups and will offer special incentives. Greenway Water Trail Interactive Map Unveiled

Albany, N.Y. - The Hudson River Valley Greenway has announced the availability of an interactive Water Trail map on the newly updated and re‐designed Hudson River Greenway Water Trail website. The redesigned website features a map of the water trail using Google Map, as well as information pages for water trail users and current and potential site owners, a page on currently designated sites, location and use of kayak storage racks, water trail grants, and a chronicle of this year’s Great Champlain‐Hudson Paddle. Free 2009 - 2010 Cattaraugus County Snowmobile Brochure and Map Now Available

cattaraugus-co-snowmobile-map.jpgLittle Valley, N.Y. - Debra Opferbeck, Tourism Specialist for the Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism announced that the FREE  2009 - 2010 Snowmobile brochure and map is now available.  On one side of the brochure is a 24″ by 18 ½” map of the trails with labels for trail numbers, junction numbers and a business legend for the gas, food or lodging. The brochure contains the name, address, phone number, longitudes and latitudes of the snowmobile related businesses through-out the County. The businesses are listed under the categories of: Eateries with Trail Access, Lodging with Easy Trail Access, Parking for Snowmobiles and/or trucks with trailers, Snowmobile Sales, Parts & Service, Gas Stations on the Snowmobile Trails and the Hidden Treasures of the Enchanted Mountains. Free Fulton and Montgomery Counties Snowmobile Trails Map Now Available

Fulton and Montgomery Counties Snowmobile Trails mapFonda, N.Y. - The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and the Fulton County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry announce the availability of the Fulton and Montgomery Counties Snowmobile Trails map.

“There are approximately 400 miles of snowmobile trails to enjoy between the two counties.  The pocket-sized snowmobile map has a new look compared to the previous map,” states Gina DaBiere-Gibbs, Montgomery County Tourism Director.  “Instead of advertising, we opted to keep the map winter themed highlighting winter activities such as skiing and ice skating, annual winter events, snowmobile safety guidelines, snowmobile club information, snowmobile sales and repairs, and more.” Read more »

Great Lakes Seaway Trail Publishes Guide to America’s Next Birding Travel Hot Spot

stbbirdbookcover72.jpgSackets Harbor, N.Y. - Birders interested in finding the best birding spots year-round for all manner of migratory & resident raptors, songbirds, and waterfowl along the big waters of the Great Lakes Seaway Trail in New York and Pennsylvania now have new resources to enjoy.

The Seaway Trail Foundation has developed a new birding theme guidebook, audio tour CD, notecards and outdoor storytellers to help birders find their favorite flyers along the St. Lawrence River, Lake Ontario, the Niagara River and Lake Erie.

The Birding the Great Lakes Seaway Trail by ornithologist Gerald A. Smith is a soft cover, full color traveler’s field guide to birding hot spots along the 518-mile shoreline byway that is one of America’s Byways and a National Recreation Trail. Read more »
