ORDA Venues Gearing Up for Summer Season

Lake Placid, N.Y. - Three Olympic venues will begin opening this weekend as the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) ramps up a full slate of family fun and activities throughout the summer and fall seasons.

“This is Victoria weekend in Canada and we always see a large number of Canadian visitors to the region for outdoor activities so we try to open the venues for their enjoyment, said ORDA chairman Pat Barrett.  “Many of our summer activities do not gear up until the end of June, but the Highway, bobsled rides, and training at the Olympic Jumping Complex offer a great way to spend a spring weekend.”

Adirondack Paddling Festivals Offer Thrilling Adventure This Summer in Northern New York

Plans for the Fourth Annual Peck’s Lake Sprint Triathlon Announced

Gloversville, N.Y.-The Fulton County Tourism Department of the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Peck’s Lake Protective Association (PLPA) are presenting the Fourth Annual Peck’s Lake Challenge Sprint Triathlon to be staged at Sunrise Bay on Peck’s Lake in Fulton County, NY on Saturday, August 3.  The event is comprised of a ½ mile swim, a 9 mile bike ride, and a 3 mile run. 

Peck’s Lake is located within the Towns of Bleecker and Johnstown in Fulton County, NY and inside the Adirondack State Park’s “Blue Line.” Read more »

SPAC’s Popular “Rock & Run” Raises the Volume with Addition of 10K to 5K and 1K Events

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - A new 10K has been added to SPAC’s popular “Rock & Run” 5K fundraiser scheduled for Sunday, May 19 at SPAC. The event kicks off at 9 a.m. with a 1K Kids’ Run, followed by the 5K at 9:30 a.m. and the 10K at 10:30 a.m. Over 20 top Capital Region bands will perform along certified running routes and at the free, post-race party on SPAC’s lawn. Holiday Valley Announces $3.1 Million in Improvement Projects
