Corning Is A Glass Act
Corning and its Gaffer District are synonymous with glass. Nestled in the heart of the Finger Lakes Wine Country, this picturesque town is home to a thriving glassmaking community featuring independent glass art studios and the world’s largest glass museum, The Corning Museum of Glass.
It’s also home to the only factory where world-famous Steuben Glass is made. The Corning NY Glass Sale from April 4-6, 2008, offers a unique opportunity for a weekend of seeing, buying and making glass. During this weekend, visitors will find all the glass in town on sale, with significant deals on hand-blown glass made by artists in the region as well as factory and handmade glass from around the world, including special offers on Steuben Glass. There will also be live glassmaking demonstrations in the downtown studios and well as the Hot Glass Show of The Corning Museum of Glass.
