sculptor-james-tyler.jpgGarnerville, NY - Sculptor James Tyler has begun work on his huge sculpture, the Groundwater Colossus, in his studio at the GAGA Arts Center in Garnerville. The sculpture will be one of the largest free standing ceramic sculptures ever made, formed with over ten tons of clay.

The artwork is an enormous human visage, emerging from the earth. A personification of the vast freshwater aquifers that lay hidden beneath the surface of the ground. Viewers of the sculpture will be face to face with the issue of this vitally important natural resource.
