ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A collaborative retrospective celebrating the work of John Wood will be launched this fall in Rochester, N.Y. and then travel to New York City, before embarking on a national tour. The exhibition titled John Wood: On the Edge of Clear Meaning considers Wood’s career as photographer, artist, and educator. The exhibition is a collaboration among five institutions: Rochester’s George Eastman House International Museum of Photography & Film, Visual Studies Workshop, and Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester, along with New York City’s International Center of Photography (ICP) and the Grey Art Gallery of New York University. Whiteface 3rd Annual 5K Downhill Mountain Bike Race Set For Aug. 31

WILMINGTON, N.Y. – Whiteface Mountain in Wilmington, among the most challenging ski and ride mountains in the nation, will host the Third Annual 5 Kilometer Downhill Mountain Bike Race on Sunday, August 31. Race time is 12 p.m.

 

This NORBA-sanctioned event (National Off-Road Bicycle Association), part of the Gravity East series, will carry a $5,000 pro purse, with the top men and women receiving equal pay. There will be several thousand dollars additionally in bike-related merchandise for the top three finishers in each amateur class. Category 1 points on the USA Cycling calendar will be awarded.
