Celebrate Easter at Whiteface

Wilmington, N.Y. — Whiteface is celebrating Easter on Sunday, April 4, with an Easter service, breakfast buffet and Easter egg hunt.

The non-denominational Easter service begins at 8:15 a.m. at the summit of Little Whiteface.  In case of inclement weather, the service will be held in the Ausable Room located in the Base Lodge. Read more »

Harborfest Sets Auditions for Children’s Musical

The cast of the children’s musical “Tom Sawyer” performs at Harborfest 2009.  This year’s children’s musical is “The Three Musketeers”.  Audition are April 27 and 28 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the McCrobie Building in OswegoOswego, N.Y. - Oswego Harborfest has announced that the 2010 Children’s Musical will be “The Three Musketeers”. The musical production is taken directly from the French literary classic by Alexandre Dumas.

Area students ages 9 through 16 will have the opportunity to audition for a part in this year’s musical.  As part of Harborfest’s entertainment programming and in conjunction with the 2010 Cultural Component, France, Director’s Bobbie Palange and Rocky Farden will be staging the children’s musical on the Family Stage at the Novelis Family Park at Fort Ontario during Harborfest 2010. Museum Offers Science Adventures in Earth Exploration – an After School Program!

Photo provided.Cornwall, N.Y. - Beginning on Tuesday, April 6 the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will offer a fun and educational five-week after-school program for K-2nd graders to learn about the Science of Earth Explorations at the Outdoor Discovery Center, entrance on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road, Cornwall. Pre-registration is required.

This Pathfinders After-School program will allow Kindergarten through 2nd graders to become Scientists. Children will join Environmental Educator Carl Heitmuller each week to explore herpetology, meteorology, geology, hydrology and ichthyology! Read more »
