One-Mile Kids’ Race & Post-Race Party at SPAC  

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - On Sunday, May 22, Saratoga Performing Arts Center’s Action Council will host a 5K “Rock & Run” through the Saratoga Spa State Park for families and runners of all ages and skill levels. WNYT Anchor Phil Bayly will emcee the event which will feature live music by local bands along the course, a post-race party with entertainment, refreshments and children’s activities, and SPAC ticket giveaways for top finishers. The event kicks off at 10 a.m. at SPAC with the one-mile Kids’ Race; the 5K begins at 10:30 a.m. Proceeds benefit SPAC’s Vivienne Anderson Children’s Program. Antique Boat Museum to Provide 50 Fathers with Free Admission on Father’s Day

Clayton, N.Y. - Sailing Seaway Clayton presented by Davidson Auto Group and Lake Ontario Realty announced today that Clayton’s world-famous Antique Boat Museum has partnered with the event and will give away museum admission passes on Sunday, June 19.

The first 50 fathers to take a deck tour of tall ship Lynx on Father’s Day, June 19 at the Thousand Islands Regional Dock will receive a voucher good for free admission that day at the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, while supplies last. Read more »

Hands-on Apprenticeships for Kids This Summer at The Farmers’ Museum

farmers-museum.JPGCooperstown, N.Y.  - Ask most teenagers how they spend their summer and you will likely hear about watching movies, mowing the lawn, andspending time socializing online.  But, if you ask a Young Interpreter about their summer, they will tell you a much richer story - one filled with lifelong memories - like working as a blacksmith or learning to run an 1840’s printing press.  The Farmers’ Museum, one of the nation’s premier rural history museums, is currently recruiting for this summer’s Young Interpreter program.  Boys and girls between the ages of 12 to 14, as of May 1st, are invited to apply by May 15th.
