Baard will check out the famed waterways of the region, one of I LOVE NEW YORK’s Top 10 Green Destinations, as well as visit the Oswego Harborfest. Ogdensburg, N.Y. - Calling all fun loving golfers! The Ogdensburg Area Zonta Club invites you to play in the 2nd Annual Wine & Nine Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Saint Lawrence State Park Golf Course on Route 37. Registration times are 9am and 11:30am.
As the foursomes travel the course, the golfers will experience the tastings of New York State Wine and nine holes of captain and crew golf with a cart, rain or shine. Beer will be available for the non wine drinkers. Westchester County, N.Y. - County Executive Robert P. Astorino has announced a new director of tourism and film in Westchester County, New York. Natasha Caputo, a former vice president of NYC & Company, will guide efforts to increase Westchester County’s visibility in her role as Director of Westchester County Tourism & Film.

Pulaski, N.Y. - On the 3rd weekend in May of 2011, the Tug Hill/Black River Chapter of Trout Unlimited hosted an event for wounded soldiers from NY State Programs of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing. These soldiers experienced a wonderful two days of fly-fishing in a serene setting on the Douglaston Salmon Run in Pulaski, NY.
Fran Verdoliva, the DEC’s Salmon River Liaison, has assisted me for the last four years in organizing Project Healing Waters programs on the Salmon River. It’s our way of giving back to these incredible soldiers who sacrificed all, for our country and for the world. The event creates a recreational, rehabilitative opportunity for these soldiers to get away for a short time and be with their fellow soldiers as well as with caring community citizens who donate their time and efforts to show appreciation.
