Auburn, N.Y. - With the recent release of the movie Lincoln, everyone is talking about the 16th President of the United States, and his accomplishments. The movie chronicles the deft political maneuvering that was required to get the Thirteenth Amendment to pass the House of Representatives during what proved to be the closing days of the Civil War.  A key player in this process was William H. Seward, President Lincoln’s Secretary of State. While the movie portrays the working relationship of these two powerful and gifted politicians, in reality, their bond ran much deeper. Read more »

A Chorus Line Coming to Proctors

Schenectady, N.Y. - A CHORUS LINE, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award®-winning musical for everyone who’s ever had a dream and put it all on the line is back on tour with an all-new production. A CHORUS LINE plays at Proctors in Schenectady from December 14 through December 16.

The original production of A CHORUS LINE opened at the Public Theater’s Newman Theatre on May 21, 1975 and transferred to Broadway’s Shubert Theatre on July 25th, opening there on October 19th of that year.  It won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Score and Book, and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award.  It ran for nearly 15 years, closing on April 28, 1990 after 6,137 performances. Treasures Under the Tree: Holiday Toy Exhibit at the Rockwell Museum of Western Art

Beginning November 26, 2012 and running through December 31, 2012, the Rockwell Museum of Western Art will be transformed into a Western Wonderland, including a special Holiday Toy Exhibit in the Remington and Russell Lodge.Corning, N.Y. - Beginning November 26, 2012 and running through December 31, 2012, the Rockwell Museum of Western Art will be transformed into a Western Wonderland, including a special Holiday Toy Exhibit in the Remington and Russell Lodge.

Visitors are invited to travel back through time to see treasures under the tree. The holiday exhibit will feature a selection of children’s vintage toys and memorabilia from the Victorian Era, and also will include selections from the 1920’s and 1950’s. A holiday tree, adorned with Victorian ornaments, will set the scene for the celebration of treasures under the tree on the Western stoned-faced hearth in The Remington and Russell Lodge.
