Dutch Treat For Mother’s Day
One of Albany’s oldest and most highly anticipated events is the annual tulip festival. New York’s Capital City greets spring with thousands of tulips blooming in myriad colors and varieties to celebrate the city’s rich Dutch heritage. The 60th Annual Tulip Festival, May 9-11, 2008, will begin with the scrubbing of State Street on Friday and the coronation of the Albany Tulip Queen on Saturday at noon. Other festival events and attractions include the Pinkster Fest with entertainment on 4 stages, over 100 crafters, fine arts show, gardening talking, a vast array of food vendors, crafts and family entertainment. The festivities conclude on Mother’s Day with Jazz Sunday.
