Happy Trails To You
Throughout New York State, vibrant towns and villages add charm, variety and exciting nightlife to a great skiing experience. This new Empire State Development PSA highlights three “must ski” destinations in the Chautauqua-Allegheny, Catskills and Adirondack regions.
Ellicottville, set in the Enchanted Mountains in the Chautauqua-Allegheny region of New York, is the anchor town for Holiday Valley and Holimont ski resorts. “Ellicottville’s funky community, two resorts, deep ski history and quaint downtown combine to create an eastern gem in western New York,” says Ski Magazine. Across the state in the Adirondacks, the village of Lake Placid and nearby Whiteface Mountain are in the sights of every serious skier, both for its on-the-slope action and its apres-ski ambiance. Condé Nast Traveler recently rated Whiteface #4 in North America for best places to ski and stay.
