finger-lakes.jpgCayuga County, NY -May 7, 2009 - 10,000 new hiking and biking guides have been developed through a partnership of 12 Finger Lakes Counties looking to attract outdoor enthusiasts to the region.  The new guides feature 46 hiking and biking trails in a unique card format assembled on a carabiner for use on the trail.

Each trail card provides detailed information on the trail including distance, difficulty rating, description and a list of attractions to see along the way as well as suggested refreshment stops.

Cayuga County Trails

Auburn-Fleming Trail, Auburn (Hiking) - Converted from an old railroad bed this is a 1.6 mile trail through scenic woods, wetlands, and farmland.

Between the Lakes Ride - NYS Scenic Byway Route 90, Union Springs (Biking) - Cayuga Lake is the highlight of this ride with historic markers posted along the route that help tell the story of the area from the Cayuga Nation villages to the 1779 Sullivan Expedition.

Owasco Lake, Auburn (Biking) - With Emerson Park at the north and Fillmore Glen State Park at the South end of the route, this ride around Owasco Lake is one of the easiest and picturesque around a Finger Lake.
