New York, NY - In conjunction with Art of the Samurai: Japanese Arms and Armor, 1156-1868, a landmark exhibition just opened on Wednesday, the Metropolitan Museum of Art will present two films by the legendary director Akira Kurosawa: November 13, and December 4.   Each film ($15, including Museum admission) will be introduced by Donald LaRocca, Curator, Department of Arms and Armor.

November 13 ( 6 p.m.)
The Hidden Fortress
(1958) 126 min.
After a disastrous battle, a famous general recruits two hapless farmers to help in the daring rescue of a princess and her family fortune. One of George Lucas’s sources for the Star Wars films.

December 4 ( 6 p.m.)
Throne of Blood
(1957) 110 min.
Macbeth set in medieval Japan.  usat
