The Curious Case of Elvis PresleyLake George, NY — As you read this, the Village of Lake George is undergoing an attack of Elvises. It’s The Sixth Annual LakeGeorge.com Elvis Festival! A call has already gone out for re-supplies of peanut butter and bananas.

 

WHAT: The sixth annual LakeGeorge.com Elvis Festival.  This colorful, four-day event features Elvis Tribute Artists (ETAs) competing in three categories (professional, amateur and youth) for more than $8,000 in prize money and the chance to earn a spot in the qualifying rounds of “The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest,” which will be held in Memphis, TN this August.
 
WHO:      
- 50 Elvis Tribute Artists (ETAs) from across the United States, Canada, Australia, and Qatar.  Eight competitors from the greater Capital Region will also take part.

- 6,000 Elvis Presley fans, who will gather to celebrate and pay tribute to the magic, music and memories of the King of Rock and Roll

- Various other restaurants and venues throughout the Town and Village of Lake George
 
DETAILS: This year’s event will once again serve as an official preliminary Competition for “The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Contest,” produced by Elvis
Presley Enterprises. Inc. (EPE).   In addition to the ETA competition, the festival will commemorate its sixth festival with two Vegas-style, Big Shows. Friday Night’s show, “The Great Pretenders: Elvis and Friends,” will bring together tribute artists as Elvis and other pop legends including, Elton John, Ricky Nelson, James Brown, and Tom Jones.
 
Meanwhile, Saturday Night’s show will relive the excitement and memory of Elvis at the height of his career in “On Stage: 1969 Opening Night at the International.”  The show will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Elvis’ return to the live stage in Las Vegas and features world-class tribute artist Dwight Icenhower.  Multi-generational fans are invited to attend the festival’s main events and check out the new and free events on tap this year, including:
