Buffalo Philharmonic OrchestraThe Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra will continue its record-breaking 2007-2008 season with its annual Holiday Pops shows at the Kleinhans Music Hall on Dec. 7 at 8 p.m., Dec. 8 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 9 at 2:30 p.m. This holiday tradition features favorites from the holidays with special guest singers and narrators under the direction of resident BPO conductor Robert Franz. The following weekend, Dec. 14 at 10:30 a.m. and Dec. 15 at 8 p.m., BPO Musical Director JoAnn Falletta will conduct “A Classical Christmas,” a potpourri of masterworks from the Baroque Age through the 20th century for the Holiday Season. The program includes favorites such as Handel’s Messiah, selections from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker and Vivaldi’s Winter Concerto from the Four Seasons. Maestro Falletta has been hailed by The New York Times as “one of the finest conductors of her generation.”
