Welcome to Bike Tioga - 2008

Calling all bicyclists! Get out your wheels as the Owego Rotary Club and Tioga County Tourism Office sponsors the 6th Annual “Bike-Tioga” bicycle event on August 9 and 10, 2008 beginning at Hickories Park, Pavilion #1, Owego, NY. The Bike Tioga event is a Rotary Club and Tourism Office service provided to the community to enhance our quality of life, promote healthy living, and encourage visitors to experience Tioga County.

This event provides experienced and non-experienced bicycle riders with the choice of rides ranging from 25 to 106 miles on Saturday, and 26 to 70 miles on Sunday.
Since this is not a race, riders will have the opportunity to stop along the ride for rest and refreshments. Rides include flat to hilly terrain dependent on the ride selected. Stops may also include visits to select tourism attractions along the way. Riders may also visit the Newark Valley Depot Days celebration on Saturday, and the En-Plein Air Arts Festival in Owego on Sunday.

7:30am	106 Crazy 8 Century	Flat to Rolling — Rock and roll the river valleys of Tioga and Chemung counties. Don’t get caught going the wrong way on the crazy eight!
8:00am	69 Mile (Opt. 56 Miles) “Farmland Animal Tour”	Flat to Rolling - Follow the Susquehanna Valley and the Old River Road Trail to Chemung. Tour the Farmland Animal Park on Wyncoop Creek Road ($).
8:30am	36 Mile “Owego Slot”	Flat to rolling, 2 gradual hills - Ride past valley farmlands to Candor, and climb up to Straits Corners Road for a rolling good time to Tioga Center.
9:00am	25 Mile “Fish Haven Loop”	Flat - Follow Glenmary Road to Fish Haven Farm. Visit the fish stocking tanks, take a tour of nearby Iron Kettle farms, and enjoy lunch at the Country Café (on your own).

9:00am	70 Mile “Four County Delight”	Rolling to Hilly — Climb to Center Lisle and roll past beautiful scenery to Hunts Corners, Harford, and beyond.
9:30am	40 Mile “Berkshire Beauty”	Flat, 1 hill — Head toward Berkshire, then climb over the hill for delightful views of Tioga County.
10:00am	26 Mile (Opt. 14 Miles) “Susquehanna Sojourn”	Fairly Flat — Keep an eye out for eagles as you follow the Susquehanna River into Broome County and back.
