With the Arrival of 2009 “Hudson 400 — A Celebration of Discovery” Begins in Albany
ALBANY. N.Y. — As the New Year — 2009 — arrives, Albany begins the celebration of its discovery, Hudson 400. The year is filled with special events to mark the 400th anniversary of Dutch Explorer Henry Hudson’s discovery in 1609 of what is now New York’s Capital City.
“Hudson 400 — A Celebration of Discovery” has been named the #1 event in North America by the American Bus Association.
“Hudson 400 is a wonderful opportunity to explore the Dutch heritage of Albany and the Capital Region,” said Michele Vennard, president and CEO of the Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Albany has been planning for quite some time to guarantee it will be an unforgettable celebration,” she said.
Special concerts. A new exhibit at the New York State Museum. Even a new brew from Albany’s C.H. Evans Brewery when The Poor Soldier opera (George Washington’s favorite) is performed. And, much, much more!
Let the 400th anniversary celebration begin!
